Lord:

Let me be
where I am.

Make me
like the soil
of this obscure
Tennessee valley,
known to few,
but verdant, fertile
and alive.

Let my life grow up,
like these local,
yearning plants,
into the embrace
of your patient glory.

Let me live
in the greenness
of your creation
as a simple man,
free, but found.

Let me finally be
where I finally am.
